The Port Jefferson History & Nature Center is a hands-on, outdoor learning center and environmental park promoting habitat restoration along the historic riverfront in Jefferson, Texas. Educational programs, activities and outreach projects demonstrating the importance of history and nature are available to visitors. Programs are developed and managed by the Collins Academy team.
Outdoor Learning
Collins Academy students enjoy instructor-led, outdoor learning experiences at the Port Jefferson History & Nature Center. Participants explore natural habitats and historic areas, and learn about invasive species, habitat restoration and local wildlife.
History & Nature Center Walking Trails

Restoration & Preservation of Historical Sites
Our team is dedicated to the preservation & restoration of historic sites in Jefferson, Texas. Sites we are currently focused on include Union Missionary Baptist Church and the House of the Seasons. [ learn more about our current restoration projects ]
